“All you hear is BOOM! BAMM! And see everyone you know die in front of you”said Paul Baumer a very brave and intelligent man who fought in the war to defend and save our country, while putting his own life in danger. Paul Baumer grew up to be in a group called “the lost generation”. What that group did to him was make him grow up, and he did so by joining the military. The war was not a place for people to be scared and weak, because how could you kill someone if you are weak. Paul later found out that war is no joke, and it was truly horrible and sad, because he saw his friends die.

"All you hear is 'BOOM! BAM! And see everyone you know die in front of you," said Paul Baumer. He was and still is a very brave and intelligent man who fought in the war to defend and save our country, while putting his own life in danger. Paul Baumer grew up to be in a group called “the lost generation”. What that group did to him was make him grow up, and he did so by joining the military. The war was not a place for people to be scared and weak, because how could you kill someone if you are weak. Later on, Paul found that war is no joke. He found the true tragedy. He found the horror in war as he watched his friends die before his very eyes.
