Do you know sohcahtoa?

3. geekfromthefutur

A way of remembering how to compute the sine, cosine, and tangent of an angle. SOH stands for Sine equals Opposite over Hypotenuse.

4. anonymous

Right. And so do you know what cosine represents?

5. geekfromthefutur

idk y but im still herer and it shows somtimes that i get off this question but im not just saying. And the trigonometric function that is equal to the ratio of the side adjacent to an acute angle

6. anonymous

Well, it's adjacent/hypotenuse. And can you see which side is adjacent to $$\theta~?$$

7. geekfromthefutur

yea its on the acute angle

8. anonymous

And you know which side is the hypotenuse, right?

9. geekfromthefutur

yea its the bc

10. anonymous

So if you know the adjacent and hypotenuse, you just have the put them in the cosine ratio.

11. geekfromthefutur

So you would divide the adjective side would be 4 and 3 and 5

@Jadeishere @ganeshie8

14. Jadeishere

adj leg is 3 hyp is 5 the cosine ratio is adj/ hyp so Cos0=3/5

15. geekfromthefutur

Ur smart thats y i tag u xD

16. geekfromthefutur

So we would divide that or no
