38. Which did state legislatures in the South do as a result of the Brown v. Board of Education ruling? They enacted laws to prevent the desegregation of public schools in their states. They enacted laws to speed up the process of desegregation in school districts. They filed lawsuits in an attempt to overturn the Supreme Court's decision. They did nothing. @jgirl128

I would keep searching, but I really have to finish my module exam. maybe this will help? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/551c4f13e4b0a3143c5da1fb and also, I found this: "Expecting opposition to its ruling, especially in the southern states, the Supreme Court did not immediately try to give direction for the implementation of its ruling. Rather, it asked the attorney generals of all states with laws permitting segregation in their public schools to submit plans for how to proceed with desegregation. After still more hearings before the Court concerning the matter of desegregation, on May 31, 1955, the Justices handed down a plan for how it was to proceed; desegregation was to proceed with "all deliberate speed." http://www.uscourts.gov/educational-resources/educational-activities/history-brown-v-board-education-re-enactment I think it may be D.
