A rectangular room is three times as long as it is wide, and its perimeter is 48 meters. Find the width of the room.

    3w = length because the length of the rectangle is 3 times the size of the width so 3w+3w+w+w = 48 because all four sides are equal to the perimeter so then you must solve for w
