    120-120x=105 15/120=x x is your discount as a decimal, turn into percentage

    our starting price is 120 our ending price is 105 since we start with 120 and we discount it to get 105 we must multiply 120 by an unknown number to get 105 so let that number be x 120x=105 this would give us the percentage left from 120 so 105 is 87.5% of 120 that means we subtract this from 100% to get the discount percentage 100%-87.5%=12.5%
