Will fan and medal!! Consider the following pair of equations: y = x + 4 y = −2x − 2 Explain how you will solve the pair of equations by substitution. Show all the steps and write the solution in (x, y) form. I know the steps of the process but I dont know how to find the value of x...

    you know that: 1) y is equal to x+4 from the first equation 2) y is equal to -2x-2x from the second equation if y is equal to x+4 and -2x-2, then x+4 is equal to -2x-2. (agree?)

    set this x+4=-2x-2 and then solve for x.

    After solving for x, plug in your x-solution into one of the original equations, to find the y. (I got to go, apologize)
