Science- what is it, what makes something scientific? I'm studying for my test and this question is so simple but yet is confusing me.

I would say that the best answer is anything that uses the methods outlined in the Scientific Method is a science. Observations, hypotheses, rigorous testing with a clear pre-defined determinate, conclusions (including need for more testing).
