Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1Since it is absolute value, you will of course have two answers. All you have to do, is think of the 2x4 like it is in parenthesis. So, the first equation is going to be 5(2x4)+1=11. For that, solve for x. To get the second equation, flip the signs of the expression in the absolute value bars, 2x4. It will become 2x+4 and solve for that. So, your second equation will be 5(2x+4)+1=11
