Hm, well okay. People traveled to the West in search for gold, because they needed a new life and wanted better jobs and living situations. So it would be good to take a wagon with healthy oxen, lots of food, lots of water, and probably a good amount of clothing. Spare parts of the wagon would be a good idea too. The weather was unpredictable, so bringing basics of living was a good idea.
