    well, first step would be to re-organize the table with j in order (making sure to keep the corresponding k values) j = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 k = 52, 48, 46, 43, 40, 33, 20, 18, 6 we notice that one variable increases while the other variable decreases, meaning that the association is negative now, every time j increases by 1, k decreases by a non-constant amount (doesn't decrease by the same amount each time) so the association is nonlinear
