To figure out this we need to simply it. I would first take out the extra from it, put the letters on one side and regular numbers on the other. So, we would take the -7 and add it to the other side. 5m-7=6m+11 +7 +7

You can do this one in your head in two steps. 1. Move 5m to the RHS. 6-5 is 1m. 2. move 11 to LHS and combine -7 and -11 which is -18 The variables do not HAVE to be on the LHS.
