The photo's taken of Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee contain many differences between the two. Grant who is a western is dressed and posed in a casual manner leaning against a tall wooden object, possibly a tree. While Lee is from Virginia and looks professional based off of how he is posing and dressed in his confederate uniform in the photograph. Also Lee can be seen holding a sword in his left hand and his hat in the other. From what can be seen in Lee's photo, he looks professional. On the other hand Grant's photo shows no weapons of any kind and he is wearing his hat. He looks casual, which is the complete opposite of Lee. These two men are complete opposites in there photographs but they were excellent commanders and peaceful.

The photo's taken of Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee show how they are very different. Grant originated from the west, he was born in Ohio. He is dressed in a Union uniform and posed casually, while leaning against a tree. Grant, The general and future president, has his hat on in the photo and no weapon is visible. Although he seamed casual he was a great leader and a speaker of peace, he once said, "I have never advocated war except as a means of peace". Robert E. Lee was a leader of the confederate army, following after his father an officer of the revolutionary war. Lee's photo was very professional. He stood straight and tall proudly wearing his confederate uniform. He held his sword in one hand and hat in the other. Though he was a leader in more than one wars he talked about hating war and was a god fearing man, "What a cruel thing war is... to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors." Although both photos are different there are similarities between the two men. They were both excellent commanders and smart, peaceful men.
