First, you just want to simplify everything. Get x on the left side, do you know how?

hmmm to get x on one side, you have to do the opposite. It's -(1)x so you have to add x to the positive x.

    1 1/2x + 2 = -x +7 add x on both sides. 2 1/2x +2 = 7 subtract 2 on both sides. 2 1/2x = 5 divide to get x alone. You can do this yourself.

Actually I am on the student council and they say any activity with Open Study whether it is Answers or Help for FLVS is considered Academic Integrity Violation in the Code of Conduct and should be reported and I am loyal to my school in telling them. Just incase you wanted to know I only help NON-FLVS people.

@gabalishc You are still posting an FLVS question which is Plagiarism since it is FLVS property and you are still getting help instead of calling a teacher. Now I'm usually not this mean and it won't be fair to you. This is a warning if you want help, ask how to do it not give a direct question. Or just call your teacher. I will not be notifying the school but I hope you learned your lesson.
