x-intercept is where line crosses x-axis.|dw:1435197545096:dw|

Saying intersection occurs at \((3,0)\) Then \(3\) is your x-intercept.

    4x + y = 8 -4x + y = 8 2x+ 2y = -8 -2x + 2y = -8 these are the choices

Well. If x-intercept is 4, then we have x = 4 when y = 0. You can plug in x=4 and y=0 into given equations and check which is true or not. True equation is your choice.

    Let's start with first choice. \(4x+y=8\) \(4(\color{red}4)+(\color{red}0)=8\) \(16+0 = 8\) \(16 = 8\) Clearly this is not true. So it's not A.
