What will be the perimeter and the area of the rectangle below if it is enlarged using a scale factor of 5.5?
Perimeter = 50 cm, area = 155.25 cm2
Perimeter = 50 cm, area = 1,452 cm2
Perimeter = 154 cm, area = 155.25 cm2
Perimeter = 154 cm, area = 1,452 cm2
Also, the rectangle is 6 Length and 8 width

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1Perimeter is the total sum of the side of a polygon. Rectangles perimeter is 2(lengths) + 2(width). The area for the Rectangle is length x width

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1For the perimeter: (2 x length) + (2 x width) your length is 6 and your width is 8. yes, 12 and 16 but you have to add these two together and since the question says it is scaled by 5.5 , you have to multiply their sum by 5.5

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1yes, that's right, so that will be your perimeter. Next is the area which is simply : length x width , what will you get?

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1For the perimeter, it is okay to multiply the answer at the end because we are just adding the dimensions but for the area, we have to multiply each dimension because we need to multiply them. And you're welcome :)
