A book slides off a horizontal tabletop with constant speed 2.25m/s. It strikes the floor in 0.75s. What is the speed of the book just before it reaches the floor?

    You will have to use the kinematic equations (2d) so get the x and y coordinates for the velocity and then find the resultant vector. Note that the velocity of x direction is just 2.25 m/s, but for the y direction, you will have to consider gravity. Good luck!
