Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Distance determination is basically a series of tests and observations that scientists use in order to determine how far away the nose of a firearm was away from an object when it was shot.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0One example of these tests could be a simulation where a similar environment of the scene of the original shot is setup, and a test shot is fired. Scientists can look at a variety of factors such as the amount of smoke emission, size of entry hole or any residue left, etc. These observations and various test are how distance determination is done/calculated
