    Usually in psychology and social sciences, the words positive and negative refer to adding or taking away a stimulus. So that positive parenting would be parenting that added something, not took something away. Choice B uses the word "eliminate" which means to take something away. Choice C is adding something (positive) but punishment is not known to encourage personal development. Choice A is the only one that "adds" something that "encourages". I would go with choice A.

    Choice C would be my second option if A were not correct.
