    when multiplying fractions you multiply the denominators 4x/y * 4x/y = 16x^2/y^2

    depends on your definition of "simplified form" which is why this is such a dangerous word to use

    of course you aren't sure, there is no such mathematical operation as "simplify" it is the lazy math teachers way of saying "give me the answer i want"
