Read these directions: Creating Mosaic Art 1:Plan your design. Select a shape for your finished mosaic. Select your mosaic colors and pieces. Draw a pattern for your mosaic. 2:Prepare the background. Draw the shape you want your finished mosaic to be on a piece of wood. Use a jigsaw to cut out the shape. Drill holes in the top of the wood for hangers.

    3:Prepare the surface. Sand the surface so that it is relatively smooth. Clean the surface. 4:Apply the mosaic pieces. Spread mortar on the wood. Lay the tile in your chosen pattern. Apply grout between the tiles. Wipe off excess grout.
