each dimension of a rectangular family room is 3.5 times larger than the rectangular bedroom. if it costs $312 to carpet the bedroom, how much would cost to carpet the family room with the same carpet?

    the diagram you have shows the bedroom as a square, although yes, the dimensions on the family room is correct.

    oh. yeah it's not to scale. I just threw a box on there, wasn't really paying attention to the dimension. All you need to do here is multiply the dimensions on the family room so you can find how much more carpet is needed A = (3.5L)(3.5W) = (3.5*3.5)WL = ?

    The cost do to the bigger room will be the same thing. Cost = 3.5*3.5*312
