Genetic engineering can be used to create more productive strains of farm animals. By adding genes to an animal’s DNA, the animal can be made to produce milk or meat containing vital nutrients that would not be found naturally in those products. This provides a greater amount of nutrients per serving of milk or meat.
Do you think that this type of genetic engineering should be pursued? Explain your answer.
What are some possible impacts (positive and negative) of this type of genetic engineering on individuals, society, and the environment?

You give bullet points
Negative= Individuals : DNA manipulation may carry harmful risks such as diseases and others of that sort/
genetic engineering in which genetic manipulation is done ...
*it helps in medical sciences...e.g using bacterial machinary n plasmid as vector ,incorporation of insulin gene ,producing insulin/inserting its gene to replace the defective, etc
*as our population is growing we need more food so to increase the quantity we add growth hormones genes... to get better quantity selective breeding is done so good genes transfered to the offsprings
*also help to prevent extinction of endandered species by cloning the left ones
Environmental: Well i picture it like the Indominus Rex form Jurassic World genetic engineering. All the old cows are going to go missing, making for another extinct animal. Causing a loss of genetic diversity, which ultimately reduce the species overall survival odds. Which brings us back to Charles Darwin and Natural Selection.
*Society : Cheaper means to get the vital nutriment.
*Individuals : Healthier for humans
bad effect=transgenic animals/plants get weak immune system...
some ethical issues as natural sequence r being modifying
*Society : Well it might effect society and engineering animals.
*Individuals : DNA manipulation may carry harmful risks such as diseases and others of that sort.
*Environement : Well i picture it like the Indominus Rex form Jurassic World genetic engineering. All the old cows are going to go missing, making for another extinct animal. Causing a loss of genetic diversity, which ultimately reduce the species overall survival odds. Which brings us back to Charles Darwin and Natural Selection.
the variety in a gene pool gets small through selective breeding
so it disturbs the biodiversity in nature..but on other hand genetic engineering helps in economy of human population
as the GMO genetically modified organisms have desired genes ..like resistant to diseases, gud growth etc but consumption of GMOs by human hv a bad effect on health as some hormones production increased by unknown allergens
@Marcorie what do i write for enviormental in the positive section
it benefits the agricultural world.. to produce more crops in a shorter time period..this is +point of genetic engineering in environment + in medical science too
Do you think that this type of genetic engineering should be pursued? Explain your answer. (5 points)
NO!!! Their might be a tone of side effect that might cause a problem with the cows and anyother animals drinking the milk, or meat.
