In "The £1,000,000 Bank-Note," why did Mark Twain most likely create the character Henry Adams as an American living in England? Link to story - http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/MilPou.shtml I will give a medal for an explanation. I can't make heads or tales of the story, I kinda get.

I have a mastery test over "Humor in American Realism" that revolves around this story basically and has one or two questions that about something else. I don't understand why Mark Twain wrote the thing nor why he the character is American instead of English.
