How did the second Industrial Revolution affect the United States? It lessened the demand for additional national defense. The United States began to concentrate on expanding outside the continent. It increased the demand for raw materials.

    It increased the demand for raw materials because think about it, if you have a machine that could turn a dollar into an 100 dollar bill then you would be looking for dollars all the time . Same as this, they had machines back then that could turn nothing into something...so they were steady looking for nothing which they used to know as raw materials :)
