    From the points: (2, 4), we have x' = 2 and y' = 4. The slope, m is taken to be - 1. Using the formula: y - y' = m(x - x'), we calculate thus: y - 2 = - 1(x - 4)... (D) Note: y - y' = m(x - x') is the formula of a line in the one - point form relating to its slope - intercept form.
