Hansen took his family for a vacation to Halifax, Nova Scotia last summer, if his hostel room cost $232.50 per night (including 15%HST). calculate the amount of tax charged (HST) on the room per night

    well the room cost and HST = 115% you know HST = 15 so room cost = 100% then 115% = 232.50 divide both sides of the equation by 115 to find 1% then multiply the answer by 15 to get the value of 15%
