    AB = BC = CD = DE AD = AB + BC + CD AD = AB + AB + AB AD = 3*AB AD = 3*3 AD = 9 AE = AB + BC + CD + DE AE = AB + AB + AB + AB AE = 4*AB AE = 4*3 AE = 12 ------------------------------------------------------- Now find the area of 2 circles The first smaller circle has a radius of 9 The next larger circle has a radius of 12 After you get the areas, subtract them to get the area of the black ring
