What is ironic about Dee’s interest in the churn top and quilts in “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker? She thinks they are worthless, worn-out, and old-fashioned. She wasn’t interested in them when they were part of her everyday life. She doesn’t understand how to use them or where they came from. She thought they had been destroyed when her old house burned down.
