What made World War II a total war? The war effort required American civilians to contribute. The war was fought on all populated continents. The war involved countries from all populated continents. Technology and people were required to fight the war

    All of the united state's resources went towards winning the war against Germany & Japan. Like the victory gardens that people were encouraged to plant and grow their own food so the food in markets would go to the soldiers. So I would say A.
