Do you know how to factor? You can make it easier by taking out a 2, so you have $2(4x^2-3x-10)$ for the numerator

2. Astrophysics

So now if you remember to factor, you need multiply 4 by -10 to get - 40 and see what two numbers add up to -3 and multiply to -40, you would then get 5 and -8..factoring more you should end up with $2(4x+5)(x-2)$ so your answer so far should be $\frac{ 2(4x+5)(x-2) }{ (x-2) }$ you should be able to do the rest.
