In a water treatment plant, bacteria are used to digest material in the water. However, these bacteria can be harmful to humans. Because of this, what other steps must be taken in the treatment of water? A. Treated water must be moved long distances before being dumped in the ocean. B. Water must be dumped in the ocean so humans do not accidentally drink it. C. Chemicals must be added to kill the bacteria after they have finished digesting. D. The water that contains bacteria must be disposed of so humans do not drink it.
