I strongly feel the OS should have a cooking section for those practicing culinary arts, food sciences, inventing new recipes, and sharing advice.
“This is my invariable advice to people: Learn how to cook- try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun!”

My inspiration was my mom. She's a great cook, and she still cooks, and we still banter back and forth about cooking. Growing up in a mostly Portuguese community, food was important and the family table was extremely important. At a very young age I understood that. -Emeril Lagasse
Personally, OS would strongly benefit from opening this section in my opinion. Any comments or thoughts of how you use cooking in everyday life are appreciated. It certainly does involve sciences by knowing where comes from, calculating mathematically ingredients as well too.
I believe this has been suggested before :)
but unlike how in music or design where you can share your work and be critiqued for educational improvement, there is no way to share the food you cook to receive critiques on major points such as taste, texture, and technique.
how would such a section work?
if it is to simply share recipes or even the magical ratio of a combination of ingredients to make a perfect cookie, there are many many many blogs and other websites for such things. even if it would be to simply share such information, that might as well end up as a medal party free for all :P
1. how could it not end up as another subject used as a means to game medals?
2. how would this be different than say a blog about cooking (even if you do use math and chemistry)
good idea :) just a little lacking on full implementation .-.
