Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1dw:1436712715209:dw i can't draw to save my life so here is a start in 2D. \(\phi\) is the azimuth [and \(\theta\) the polar] from the dV element you have posted  always worth checking integrating using that dV element will give you the volume you'd get by revolution of the shaded area in the drawing  that's how spherical works. so you will need to add in extra for the cone that is missed out.
