Government supported programs to help the needy have continued since Roosevelt's time. Examples would be the government programs that help local economies and programs that provide health care for children. These programs are expensive and cost the citizens money in the form of taxes. Do you think that the government should still continue to help people in need or should people have to take care of themselves? Explain your answer.

Social Security is one of the programs that was begun during the Great Depression and still exists today. Many people think that it is time to end this program and let people plan for their own retirements. Do you think that we should continue or end this program for retired people? Explain your answer.

You cannot end Social Security for the people who are already elderly. These people rewarded into the program reasonably for all their working years. For many of these people this is their entire means of backing. However, Social Security on the whole is unsuitable and we do need to have candid and frank arguments in this country about what we are going to do when the certain breakdown happens. what do oyu hnk
