    \[p^4 + p^2 + p − k=(p-1)Q(p)\\\] if you put p=1 into rhs,lhs so you will find k

    put p=1 \[p^4 + p^2 + p − k=(p-1)Q(p)\\ 1+1+1-k=0 Q(1)=0\\so k= ?\]
