    `Select the coordinates of two points on the line y = 8.` every point is of the form (x,y). The letter x comes first, then y follows. every point on the line y = 8 has a y coordinate of 8. Some points include: (1,8), (3,8), (9,8), etc. The variable x can be anything you want. Just make sure y is 8.

    `Which of the following lines is parallel to x = 7?` anything parallel to x = 7 is of the form x = k. The letter k is standing in for some fixed number. Example: x = 92 is parallel to x = 7. Both are vertical lines that never cross each other.
