the talmud is to the jewish religion what the bible is to christian religions. I think this is how the sentence should end up like (The Talmud is to the Jewish religion what the Bible is to Christian religions. )

    Seems pretty good. Maybe you should add an "as" before what, like this. The Talmud is to the Jewish religion as what the Bible is to Christian religions.
