What was the main reason Japan tended to isolate itself from China and Korea?

    Long ago, (and still partly true now) Japanese did not welcome foreign people, including their culture, so they stayed out of trading, and other things the world was getting interested in. (Like war, although later on, Japan had a few territorial disputes.) Peace.
