Let point L be between M and N on MN. Given that MN=31, ML= h-15 and LN = 2h-8. Find LN.

    Okay, i'll explain >.< No problem Since h - 15 is the length of ML and 2h - 8 is the length of LN, the combined lengths' would equal the total length of MN When you put that into an equation, it would look like this; h - 15 + 2h - 8 = 31 Do you understand a little better?

    Lol nope, it's not 31. 31 is the length of the entire segment from M to N The question is asking for L to N which is 2h - 8 so we have to solve the equation h - 15 + 2h - 8 = 31 Do you know how to solve the equation?
