U.S. government leaders were impressed by the Native Americans' sacrifices and granted citizenship. U.S. government leaders increased the number of reservations for Native Americans to reside. Native American civil rights leaders began to increase their push for the right to vote. Native American leaders were granted the right to govern themselves on American land.
