−12 3 −13 8 How did you get 20x ?
lalaland_lauren
  • lalaland_lauren
because of (x+5)(x+5) since it's squared

Consider the functions f(x) = 3x − 2 and g(x) = x2 − 1. What is the value of (f − g)(−2)? Okay, x=(-2) f(-2) =3*(-2) - 2 f(-2) = -6 -2 f(-2) = -8 g(-2) = (-2)^2 − 1 g(-2) = 4 -1 g(-2) = 3 (f-g) = -8 - 3 I think you can figure it out from there.
anonymous
  • anonymous
(f − g)(−2) is f[g(−4)] though
lalaland_lauren
  • lalaland_lauren
\[f(x)=x^2-13\] \[g(x)=x+5\] and you're trying to find f[g(-4)], so since it shows that g(x) = -4, you plug it in, after you plug in the f(g) however, SOOOO \[(x-5)-13\] \[(-4+5) - 13\] got it?

Well, I haven't done my welcome call yet and I've skipped all the DBA's and tests and I'm already 1/3 through lol! The only assignment I skipped though is 6.06 I think, since I need like 12 people for the scatter plot thing and I'm too shy and socially awkward to ask people if I can measure them lmao
