x + y = 3k x - y = k The solution of the system shown is _____.

    x would equal 4k, because the y's cancel out

    and y would have to equal -k y=-k

    so overal the solution to me would be (x,y) =(4k,-k); where k= whatever you want to place.

    but if this is a algebra 2 question you would have to move the k to the other side making both equations = to 0
