How were the trade practices of ancient China, prior to the building of the Silk Road, different from those of ancient Egypt? China had limited trade opportunities with other civilizations, but Egypt had several. China used coins to trade, but Egypt relied on barter. China relied on rivers and seas to trade, but Egypt used only seas. China traded wool and gold, but Egypt traded silk and spices.
