    the first equation tells you how to write y in terms of x i.e wherever you see a y you could replace it with (3-x) so in th second equation you should write it, making that change (put 3-x where you see y)

    wait - did you correct the post in your second posting? is the correct equation got I/2 x in it?

    ok - but the same solution applies as I described above wherever you see y in the second equation you can replace it with 3 - 1/2 x)
