## anonymous one year ago The function H(t) = −16t2 + 96t + 80 shows the height H(t), in feet, of a projectile after t seconds. A second object moves in the air along a path represented by g(t) = 31 + 32.2t, where g(t) is the height, in feet, of the object from the ground at time t seconds. Part A: Create a table using integers 2 through 5 for the 2 functions. Between what 2 seconds is the solution to H(t) = g(t) located? How do you know? (6 points) Part B: Explain what the solution from Part A means in the context of the problem. (4 points) Can you pplease help mE??? @triciaal

hello

4. anonymous

hi

5. anonymous

6. anonymous

im sorry im not good at these types

7. anonymous

its okay

9. anonymous

@pooja195 can you help?

10. anonymous

dude can anyone help? im really stuck on this

14. anonymous

Hi

15. anonymous

@triciaal can you help?

16. triciaal

going through the closed questions just did this think yesterday

17. triciaal

new part A do the table

18. triciaal

|dw:1437583979413:dw|

19. triciaal

fill out the table completely look at the values of H(t) and g(t) and see where they are approximately equal then look at the "t" column to see between what 2 integers

20. anonymous

I have no clue

21. triciaal

what do you mean by that? did you actually read my response?

22. triciaal

|dw:1437586186176:dw|

23. anonymous

i dont know how you did that, the graph and stuff. i dont know how that correlates to the question @triciaal

24. anonymous

@abb0t Could you help???

25. anonymous

i can help

26. anonymous

@lealealea222

27. anonymous

THANKYOU

28. anonymous

np

29. anonymous

she took the 2 expressions from the begging and substituted numbers 2 through 5 for t so u just solve and make the table

30. anonymous

begining

31. anonymous

okay i see that

32. anonymous

so now u just solve the equations and write the numbers in for the table

33. anonymous

for example for the first equation -16t^2+96t+80 ill substitute in 2

34. anonymous

-16(2)^2+96*2+80 -16*4+96*2+80 -64+192+80 208

35. anonymous

ok ill try, what number do i plug in for t?

36. anonymous

well i did 2 so u do 3 for t

37. anonymous

ill check it

38. anonymous

tell me when ur done

39. anonymous

-16(3)^2+96*3+80= 224

40. anonymous

yep so now do 4 for t then 5 for t after that

41. anonymous

ok

42. anonymous

what did u get

43. anonymous

-16(4)^2+96*4+80=208 -16(5)^2+96*5+80=160

44. anonymous

yep so now ur halfway done with part A

45. anonymous

yyay

46. anonymous

31+32.2*t is ur new equation so just do the same thing again t for 2 then 3 then 4 then 5

47. anonymous

-16(2)^2+96*2+80=208 -16(3)^2+96*3+80= 224 -16(4)^2+96*4+80=208 -16(5)^2+96*5+80=160

48. anonymous

no now use the equation 31+32.2t and plug in 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 for t

49. anonymous

ooh okay sorry

50. anonymous

sokay

51. anonymous

31+32.2(2)=95.4 31+32.2(3)=127.6 31+32.2(4)=159.8 31+32.2(5)=192

52. anonymous

good now plug those into the table

53. anonymous

how do i do that?

54. anonymous

it should look like this |dw:1437587989265:dw|

55. anonymous

Yea, is that what i put for part A?

56. anonymous

yep

57. anonymous

well u also have to say when are they equal

58. anonymous

ok awesome, im gonna write that down, then can we do part B?

59. anonymous

when do u think they are equal

60. anonymous

between which 2 t numbers

61. anonymous

erm they arent?

62. anonymous

not at that exact second (remeber t stands for seconds) but between which two numbers would it be. for example lets say u had 2 for one and 3 for the other at 1 sec then 3 for one of them and 2 for the other that means inbetween the seconds they were equal

63. anonymous

so between which seconds do u think they were equal

64. anonymous

H(t) 4 and G(t)5

65. anonymous

u just say between 4 and 5 seconds

66. anonymous

Awesome thanks

67. anonymous

Can you help with B?

68. anonymous

now lets do part b remmeber u have to explain how u got between 4 and 5 secs

69. anonymous

ok i got it down, now can you help with B?

70. anonymous

so what do u think it means that they where the same between 4 and 5 Hint:talk about what its about read the question to find what was happening

71. anonymous

It means the in feet, of projectile after 4 seconds, the same as A second object moves in the air along a path at 5 seconds

72. anonymous

yep good job!

73. anonymous

@lealealea222 before u close it can u do me a favor

74. anonymous

hello @lealealea222

75. anonymous

yea sure

76. anonymous

can u medal @triciaal instead of me

77. anonymous

um yea sure

78. anonymous

oh yea i see, she medaled you

79. anonymous

its just that i worked off of what he said so he helped first so he deserves it

80. anonymous

yea thats true, thankyou for helping

81. anonymous

np

82. anonymous

Don't forget to fan if you already haven't. Plus send me a message if you need more help @lealealea222
