    Even functions are defined by: \(f(-\theta) = f(\theta)\) Odd functions are defined by: \(f(-\theta) = -f(\theta)\)

    That means if you plug a negative value in fr your function of cosine, and you get an even result, then your function is even, and plugging in a negative value into your function resulting in a negative result means your function is odd.
