Ill Give Medals! And Fan! A scale on a map shows that 2 inches = 25 miles. Part A How many inches on the map represents 60 miles? Part B How many miles is represented by 1/4 inch on the map?

    Nevertheless, A) 2 inches=25 miles x inches = 60 miles B) 2 inches=25 miles 1/4 inches= x miles

    If 2 inches = 25 miles Than x inches = 60 miles Therefore, Inches Miles 2 25 x 60 Cross multiply 2*60 = 25*x Solve for x :)

    Divide 25 by 2 to find what one inch would be, then divide that answer by 4 to find the amount of miles for 1/4

    Dont forget the units (4.8!, 3.125!, put 4.8 inches and 3.125 miles)

    Part A: The amount of inches for 60 miles is 4.8. This is because I cross multiplied this equation 2 • 25 x • 60 which equals 120/25, then after I got the answer I divided 120 by 25 and it came out as 4.8! Part B: One fourth of an inch is 3.125 miles because if we take the 25 and divide it by 2 it equals 12.5, then after i divided 12.5 by 4 to get to 1/4 of a mile.. Which equaled 3.125!
