Solve for x: −5|x + 1| = 10 x = 0 x = −3 and x = 1 x = −1 and x = 3 No solution

    the vertical lines mean the absolute value of x+1 which must be positive

    |x + 1| must be positive but we got it equal to -2 so? Look at the choices.

    No its d , because -2 is negative and |x + 1| must be positive there is no solution.
