Why did new forms of entertainment such as dance halls, carnival rides, and professional sports grow in popularity around 1900? A. Older forms of entertainment had become outdated and boring in the new world of technology. B. For the first time in history, large numbers of people had leisure time and extra money. C. Young people who learned about far off places in school demanded new and exciting pastimes. D. Unemployed workers in large cities needed ways to spend their time.
