    In the figure, ΔABC ~ ΔDEF. Solve for x. Triangles ABC and DEF. Angles B and E are congruent and measure 160 degrees. AB measures x. BC measures 16. DE measures 3. EF measures 8. x = 1.5 x = 6 x = 4 x = 5.5

    since the triangles are similar, the ratios of similar sides are the same...

    the ratios of DE/AB has to be the same as EF/BC , since they are similar triangles
